Global Conference System
Fuqua's telepresence environment is being relocated to Seminar Room H and will be back online in October with a wider screen and upgraded technology.
New e-mail/browser
Based on our research and discussions with faculty and student members of our technology advisory committees, we plan to migrate Fuqua faculty and staff systems beginning later this summer to two new products -- Mozilla Firefox (browser) and Mozilla Thunderbird (e-mail client). This is the underlying technology upon which Netscape 7.x is founded. The transition into Mozilla from Netscape will be very transparent. The Mozilla user interfaces are very similar to those used in the Netscape browser and e-mail client. In addition, bookmarks and other Preference settings will automatically transfer from Netscape to Mozilla.
FuquaWorld portal enviroment
A new staff version of FuquaWorld will be deployed this Fall which includes integrated personal and event scheduling.
R&D Pilots
Some exciting pilot efforts are being planned with VOIP-enabled multimedia collaboration. In an effort to stay on the leading edge of capabilities, it’s important to keep some focus and energy on emerging technologies which could further Fuqua’s objectives for innovation in the areas of teaching, learning and overall connectedness supporting teams, classes, and other communities.
