Spam and junk email are becoming an increasing nuisance throughout the modern workplace. Although the email systems here at Duke have also been effected, there are actions we can take to mitigate this problem.
Fuqua's Information Technology Department takes a pro-active approach to address these issues. In that spirit, the TSC would like to encourage members of the Fuqua community to take advantage of a new "Email Filtering" service offered by Duke's Office of Information Technology.
Its easy and only takes a few moments:
First, browse to and bookmark "Online@Duke", the OIT-hosted email management page: https://webacct.acpub.duke.edu/online/ There you will see several options for self-help on technical matters. Choose the "Filter your e-mail" topic. You will be given options to discard spam-type emails, or to block emails from senders who have repeatedly sent you "junk" email of various sorts.
Users have reported some success in decreasing the junk emails flowing into their inboxes with this service, and we encourage everyone at Fuqua to take full advantage of this service.
As always, you are welcome to contact the TSC with any questions that might arise at 660-7878 or tsc-help@fuqua.duke.edu
