We would like to redraw your attention to online security and some real
dangers in terms of identity theft. We have recently seen several
efforts to capture personal information by forging e-mail messages that
appear to come from financial institutions such as SunTrust, Huntington
Bank, and TCF Bank. The messages include both the graphic logo of the
company and web links that would appear to be legitimate. They are not.
Here are some reminders to help protect against these dangers:
1. Do not open messages from senders you do not know.
2. Do not open messages that you are not expecting even from companies
with which you have accounts.
3. When in doubt, contact the company via telephone or visit the
company's web site by typing the URL for the company directly into your
browser.
Please give us a call with any questions about e-mail messages that you
believe may be forgeries.
Thanks.
