Fuqua IT will be performing a major upgrade to the uninterruptable power supply (UPS) in the Data Center this Friday night/Saturday morning.
The upgrade will bring greater capacity than the existing UPS to Fuqua’s computing infrastructure. We will also be using this time to put new systems in place for the Breeden Hall expansion as well as tying in the Data Center to Fuqua’s emergency power generator.
From 10:00 pm Friday until 6:00 am Saturday morning, all Fuqua IT services will be unavailable, including web services, UNIX services, network drives, FuquaWorld, and Meeting Maker.
No data should be saved to the network drives (H, G, etc.) during this time period since the network will be unavailable and such attempts may cause a loss of data.
Research computing (including the Latte and Sol compute servers) will also be shut down at this time in order to move to the new UPS. Please plan accordingly and do not schedule any jobs to run overnight on Friday.
