Telepresence connection

Many corporations have deployed TeleSuite telepresence environments in their corporate office locations. Telepresence environments have wide-screen, life-size videoconference capabilities. It is even possible to connect to more than one distant site at a time using this system.

In order to use the system for this type of connection, please contact Fuqua Multimedia at 660-7974 at least two (2) business days in advance of your conference with the following information:

Conference name (eg. - interview with Capital One CFO)
Conference date
Conference start time (Durham time)
Conference duration
Name of participant at Duke/Fuqua:
Distant site location (city/company)
Name/telephone of participants at distant site:

NOTE: There is no charge for this type of use.

Video connection to IP-based videoconferencing system on Internet or Internet2

Many companies have migrated from ISDN videoconferencing to IP-based videoconferencing. While this is not a wide-screen format and is not as realistic as a telepresence connection, the quality of the experience is quite good.

In order to use the system for this type of connection, please contact Fuqua Multimedia at 660-7974 at least two (2) business days in advance of your conference with the following information:

Conference name (eg. - interview with Capital One CFO)
Conference date
Conference start time (Durham time)
Conference duration
Name of participant at Duke/Fuqua:
Distant site location (city/company)
Name/telephone of participants at distant site:

NOTE: There is no charge for this type of use.

Video connection to ISDN-based videoconferencing system

In order to use the system for this type of connection, you will need to:

1. Get the distant site to complete and forward the TeleSuite Site Profile Form to TeleSuite.

2. Have the distant site arrange a test conference connection (call) to the Telesuite Network Operations Control Center in advance of your conference.

3. Contact Fuqua Multimedia at 660-7974 with the following information about your conference:

Conference name (eg. - interview with Capital One CFO)
Conference date
Conference start time (Durham time)
Conference duration
Name of participant at Duke/Fuqua:
Distant site location (city/company)
Name/telephone of participants at distant site:

NOTE: There is a charge for this type of connection. We are billed by TeleSuite per minute for the line charges and an additional connection fee by the minute for the test call and the actual conference. This cost will be passed on to the user. Departments are requested to provide a fund code when making arrangements. Students will be billed on their student account.
