Mapping the Fuqua Network Drives
Learn to setup access to the G: drive, the H: drive, and the I: drive

When you log in to a computer at Fuqua, you will automatically be given access to the "H", "G", and "I" network drives.

When you are away from Fuqua (at home or on the road), you may still need to access data that you have stored on one of your network drives. Fortunately, it is possible to setup access to your Fuqua Newtork Drives(G:, H:, and I:), even on a remote system.

Using Windows 2000/ or Windows XP, follow these steps:

  1. Install and activate the VPN software (Instructions for installing and using VPN)
  2. Right-click on "My Computer" and choose "Map Network Drives"
  3. Specify the drive letter you wish to use
  4. Enter the location in the "Folder" box:

For the Staff Department G: drive, enter \\galaxy\[group]$
(Where [group] = name of your staff area. Call the TSC for this info.)
For your Fuqua H: drive, enter \\galaxy\cifs.homedir
For the I: Drive, enter \\galaxy\everyone
  5. When prompted for a User ID, enter fuqua\USERNAME (use your FuquaNet Username)
  6. When prompted for a password, enter your FuquaNet password

Then, anytime you are connected to the Internet from home, the mapped drive will give you quick access to your Fuqua files.
