Fuqua continues to recommend that students use the Windows XP Pro or Vista (32-bit only) operating system.
Some students may choose to run a Windows OS on Mac hardware(using products such as VMWare Fusion or BootCamp). In this case, we will provide support limited to Fuqua applications but we cannot guarantee that those application will run properly.
Note that all of the applications that you will need for your coursework will be available in the Main MBA Computer Lab - which is outfitted with new Windows workstations.

What is TSC policy on Mac use for students?
The Fuqua School of Business has begun offering limited support for the Macintosh operating system. Please be aware that not all applications used in courses are available for the Mac OS.
Fuqua IT recommends installing VMware Fusion as a virtual platform for running Windows XP or Vista when needed. VMware Fusion is available for student purchase at the Duke Computer Store.
Is there course-related software that doesn't work on OS X?
We know that at least two courses have software that will not work on a MAC. In this case, a student could use either a virtual machine product, like VMware Fusion, or do their work in the main Computer Lab.
Does Fuqua recommend a specific product to run Windows on Mac ?
There are several products that allow users to run a Windows OS on Mac hardware. The two leading products in this market segment are "Parallels" and "VMware Fusion". Both of these are available at the Duke Computer Store. Of these two products, the TSC recommends VMware Fusion as the preferred virtualization product for Fuqua students.
Can I access my Duke email account from my Mac?
Yes you can. We recommend upgrading to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard at your first opportunity to take advantage of the full integration with Microsoft Exchange. Instructions for attaching to the Duke Exchange system will appear here in a few days. Until then, we recommend Mac users make use of Outlook Web Access.
Is there a Mac users group at Duke?
There are some formal and informal groups of Mac users. Be aware that the energy and productiveness of these groups is based on the people involved at the time, and as membership changes over time, so does the user group.
