The Fuqua School of Business was migrated to an Exchange Email Server by Duke’s Office of Information Technology.

All daytime students have now been migrated to the new Exchange Server e-mail system. This new system will enable all students to access their e-mail via the Outlook e-mail client. Students will also enjoy all the benefits of an enterprise-class Exchange E-mail system, including integrated Calendar, Contacts and Tasks.

Returning students are advised to invest some time to transition to the new system.  All returning students should have received a word .doc attachment in an email which was sent on Friday, August 21. Download a copy of that document here.

Here is another summary of what you need to do:

  1. Your Duke NetID and Password are created by Duke’s Office of Information Technology (OIT). You will continue to have to use your NetID to access Duke electronic resources maintained by Duke's OIT (Office of Information Technology).
  2. To access e-mail under the new system, you will have to activate your new email account (<10 min.):
    1. You must first change your password at Online@Duke. To change your password, select Change your password under NetID Services.)
    2. You can then log in to your new Duke email account via the web. If you have any old bookmarks that point to the old webmail system, you will have to delete them and create a new bookmark that points to the new systems web address: https://exchange.oit.duke.edu/owa/
    3. Initially, we recommend accessing your Duke email through the web. But we also recommend that students install the full Outlook client as soon as possible.
  3. Your Duke NetID and password will continue to grant you access to Fuqua’s community web portal, FuquaWorld. Before the term begins, you should at least once find the My Profile link on the upper right corner of the page, and view your profile.
  4. Your Fuqua Lifetime Email Alias has been created and can also be found by clicking My Profile in FuquaWorld.  No action relating to your "Fuqau LEA"is required from current students except to be aware of what your Fuqua LEA is and how to use it. As a student, all e-mail sent to your Lifetime E-mail Alias will automatically forward to your Duke email account.  Upon graduation, you will be able to modify your alias to forward all incoming mail to an email account of your choice.
  5. In addition, you will need to obtain your FuquaNet password to gain access to additional Fuqua resources, including network storage, printers, Fuqua VPN and computers located in the computer lab and team rooms.

This password is available for you when you first login to FuquaWorld. To find your initial FuquaNet Password, click on My Profile in FuquaWorld, then find the field. Please note:
    • It is recommended that you change this password in FuquaWorld by selecting the link: "Change My FuquaNet Password" (also found in the Tech Tools section of the main page).
    • It is recommended to synchronize your NetID and FuquaNet passwords for ease of use.
