All faculty systems purchased using Fuqua funds (office, home, and mobile) must be properly licensed, including Windows operating system, Office, and other applications. While each software company has slightly different licensing rules and restrictions, the following are commonly used by faculty and give a sense of the range of approaches:

• Microsoft – both Windows OS (2000, XP) and Office (2000, XP) can be used on two (2) machines. Each additional machine requires a separate license for both Windows and Office. All new systems come with OS license and Fuqua IT will ensure OS licensing is maintained.

• Macromedia – same license can be used across office, home, and mobile systems

• Other software may require separate license per machine. This is the case with Adobe, Matlab, and SAS.

Following are the current licensing cost (per client system) for typically-used faculty software
