Email and Calendar Accounts

Email Basics

While you are at The Fuqua School of Business you have one email account with an email alias that points to your email account.

  • netid@duke.edu - Your email account on the mail server.  If your Duke NetID is jbf99 your email address will be jbf99@duke.edu

  • firstname.lastname@duke.edu - Will be your email alias automatically set-up by Duke

Display Name

You are automatically assigned an email alias, usually your full firstname.lastname@duke.edu. If you choose, you can update your Duke alias at http://oit.duke.edu/selfservice under Manage Directory Listings. You can have up to two full name aliases active simultaneously. Each must be some form of your name.

Please note that Duke University reserves the right to revoke any alias.

Email Signature

These email signatures are only examples and are not a requirement to using your email while at Duke. They should be able to be copied and modified into your email client on your laptop, desktop, phone, or via Outlook Web Access, Chrome on Windows and Safari on the Mac seem to work the best for copying the signature from the page.

The Duke University Style Guide lists Garamond and Interstate as the primary fonts for Duke branding. Arial and Helvetica are good substitutes.

General Guidelines for proper format:

  • Font = Garamond
  • First two lines = 12 point and bold
  • Remaining lines = 11 point and normal
  • Second line is in Duke Blue (Hex triplet color #001A57)
